Funding Opportunities
Under the Advancing Medicare & Medicaid Integration initiative, Arnold Ventures provides funding to states to advance full Medicare and Medicaid integration for dual-eligible individuals.
Funding Amount
Funding will vary based on project size and scope. See examples of potential projects and activities to learn about the types of work that may be supported. The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) and Arnold Ventures will work with a state, or its technical assistance partner, to determine the type of support that fits the scope of the project.
Timing
State projects are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis. Project durations may vary based on the scope of work, but are generally no longer than 30 months.
State Awardees
Funding is targeted toward state Medicaid agencies and/or state disability and aging agencies involved in coverage and service delivery for dual-eligible populations. States’ technical assistance partners may also receive support on behalf of a state, with state approval and participation. Technical assistance partners receiving direct support on behalf of a state are expected to demonstrate formal state commitment through a letter of support. State staff will need to provide project oversight, review of key deliverables, provide data or information needed to complete the project, and meet periodically with Arnold Ventures staff to assess progress.
Approval Process
States and/or their technical assistance partners interested in receiving support through Advancing Medicare & Medicaid Integration should first contact and meet with CHCS to discuss state goals. CHCS will work with prospective applicants to develop a project concept, design project activities, and create a budget. States’ project concepts that are favorably reviewed by Arnold Ventures staff will be invited to submit a full proposal for Arnold Ventures Board review and potential award.
